Description

Silky whipped feta transforms into a fluffy spread on toasted crostini, eager for a ribbon of warm honey spiked with red pepper heat. Each bite pops with crisp crunch, sweet warmth, and a hint of fresh thyme.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf baguette
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz feta cheese crumbled
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 sprig fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 12 even slices.
  2. Arrange slices on a baking sheet, brush with half of the olive oil and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  3. In a food processor combine feta cheese, cream cheese, garlic, lemon juice, black pepper and remaining olive oil; blend until smooth.
  4. In a small saucepan gently warm honey with red pepper flakes over low heat for about 2 minutes until infused.
  5. Spread whipped feta onto each crostini, drizzle with hot honey, garnish with fresh thyme leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Crostini can be broiled for 1–2 minutes for extra crisp.
  • Whipped feta can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spiciness of the honey.
  • Store any leftover components separately to maintain texture.
