I'm Nora, a home cook and recipe creator based in Nashville, Tennessee. I share my kitchen with a rescue dog named Biscuit, a windowsill full of struggling herbs, and a deep personal conviction that almost any meal can be improved with a little more garlic.
Cooking is how I unwind, how I show up for the people I care about, and how I make sense of a busy week.
My approach is practical and unhurried: I am not interested in recipes that require special equipment or hard-to-find ingredients, and I am very interested in food that actually tastes like something.

My Expertise
I did not go to culinary school. What I did do was cook constantly, pay close attention, and ask a lot of questions. My skills developed through years of making the same dish over and over until I understood what it actually needed, and through a genuine obsession with figuring out why a recipe works rather than just following it blindly.
Every recipe on this site gets tested multiple times across different conditions: different stove types, different pan sizes, different levels of experience in the cook making it. I pay particular attention to the steps where things tend to go sideways and rewrite them until they are honest and clear. My goal is to give you recipes you can trust, not just ones that look good on a page.
My Journey
BonneRecipes started as a personal project born out of necessity. Friends kept asking me to write down my recipes, and I kept losing the scraps of paper I wrote them on. Creating a proper home for them online seemed like the obvious solution, and somewhere along the way it turned into something I genuinely love doing.
My cooking has shifted a lot over the years: I started with the comfort classics I grew up eating and gradually expanded into techniques and flavor combinations that I never would have attempted when I first started. What drives me now is the moment someone tries one of my recipes for the first time and it works exactly as they hoped.
