Description

Tiny sausages wrapped in golden crescent dough, bursting with molten cheddar and spicy jalapeño bits. Crisp exterior gives way to a gooey, fiery filling that makes every bite unforgettable.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 large jalapeño peppers seeded and diced
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 24 count mini cocktail sausages
  • 1 large egg beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced jalapeños until evenly mixed.
  3. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles; cut each triangle in half crosswise to form smaller triangles.
  4. Place one mini cocktail sausage at the wide end of each triangle and top with about one teaspoon of the cheese mixture.
  5. Roll dough around each sausage and cheese filling, tucking the ends underneath; place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush each wrapped sausage with the beaten egg to achieve a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for 2 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute pepper jack cheese for extra heat
  • Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating before baking
  • Serve with ranch or spicy mustard for dipping
  • Adjust jalapeño quantity to control spiciness
